Lao textile - Phaa biang shawl

Phaa biang is a shawl like fabric worn on the upeer body as a formal wear in Laos. This is for the women and men wear phaa biang shawls for weddings and formal ceremonies, which is often checked pattern.

They are also worn in Cambodia and Thailand. It  is said to have originated from Sari in India.
