Pottery and porcelain
Do you know the difference between pottery and porleian?
Ceramic pottery is made of clay, water and a few organic materials, which has a glaze before put in the kiln while porlelain is made of clay, kaolin, silica, quartz and various other materials.
Pottery absorbs water and it is recommended to soak the pottery in a luke warm water for a half day before you use it for the first time you purchased. Porcelain hardly absorbs water and it is thin and hard.
Another difference is that the pottery is fired in kiln at about 800 to 1250C while porcelain is fired at about 1200 to 1400C.
