Japanese wooden boxes (Bento box)

In Japan, there is a tradition of carrying food in a box, which is called Bento. Now is the time of the year when many people go under the fully-bloomed cherry trees and have a picnic with family, friends and colleagues.

In such occasion, many people make some food and put them inside wooden boxes.

They are often two or three of them stuck together like the above photo, when you are more than one person. Food is often shared between others in the same group.

You can use such boxes also as a sewing box, to organize small things or any other way you like.
